Why publish the data
PriceLens started as a tool for tracking electronics prices in Bangladesh. Once it had collected enough history, the dataset became more useful than the app: it shows how prices move across retailers, which products are repriced often and where listings disappear.
The dataset is published on Mendeley Data with a README, a data dictionary and a datasheet that documents collection, preprocessing and suitable uses. Known limitations, including survivorship bias and coverage gaps, are written down rather than hidden.
